Mobilization of funds
Loans provided by the IBRD to developing countries, funded mainly through the sale of bonds, with the highest reliability rating «AAA» in global financial markets. Receiving a small profit from lending, IBRD more substantial income received from equity. This capital consists of reserves accumulated over many years, and the funds received in contributions from 185 Member States of the World Bank. IBRD uses the profits to cover operating expenses, partially enumerates the IDA and used for relief of the debt.
IDA, which is the world's largest source of financing for the poorest countries in the form of interest-free loans and grants, are replenished every three years by 40 donor countries. Additional IDA funds received as repayment of the countries provided for a period of 35 to 40 years interest-free loans. These funds are then re-used for lending. The share of IDA accounts for nearly 40 percent of total World Bank lending operations.
